The former American radar station dating from the Cold War era stands deserted on the peak of Teufelsberg.
The expansive ruin braces itself against the howling wind. Spherical attachments on the roof and the towers, old listening devices, glow white. Tattered shreds of their old savings flap about. The path leads to the interior of the complex. Demolished offices and formerly bug-proof areas are hidden behind one of the entrances. In the main building, the path leads up through a stairwell to an observation deck. Two of the monumental 'listening spheres' lie there like over-sized golf balls.
